We Need More Plumbers

At first glance, this story by ABCNews.com reports that the greatest possible
danger to the American People is our water pipes.
“‘If you clean up water and then put it into a dirty pipe, there’s not much point,’ said Timothy Ford, a microbiologist and water research scientist with Montana State University.”
So, basically, unless we rip out and replace all our old and corrosive water piping, we’re totally screwed. Maybe somebody should have thought
about that, you know, a while back. Under “normal” circumstances, before the age of Terrorism and color coded alert systems (Does that thing still exist?) the idea of needing to replace rusty pipes wouldn’t be news. But we’ve become so focused on the fear of another terrorist attack that we forget that all the other problems that existed before September 11, 2001 still exist. So now, when they come to haunt us, we respond with amazement. Who knew Oxidation would be the one to do us in?
