Another Case Of Taking “Draw The Line” Too Seriously

An Australian man is likely to escape the death penalty for trafficking 495 grams of cannabis into Singapore because he possessed just 5 grams under the limit. Instead he faces between 5 and 20 years jail as well as between 5 and 15 strokes of the cane (What the hell is with the caning?)
I strongly disprove of the death penalty for ANY reason, and I also strongly support the use of drugs (Perhaps not trafficking drugs, but what else can you do when the government bans something that should be perfectly legal?) So forget about all that for second. What I am more interested in here is the difference between a maximum of 20 years jail and the death penalty being 5 grams of cannabis. Read more

Baning something almost always ends up causing more harm than the good that was intended. This was true for alcohol prohibition and is true for drug prohibition. It now seems like it may be true for public smoking bans. Read more
What Are Those Crazy Scientologists Up To Now?

The “Industry of Death” exhibit is sponsored by the Church of Scientology and makes a host of outrageous claims about the field of psychiatry. Twenty-five percent of psychiatrists sexually abuse their patients. Psychiatrists deliberately kill about 10,000 people a year - sounds about right. And for the big surprise, psychiatrists were responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks - guilty by association, at least, since psychiatrists are responsible for the existence of terrorists and suicide bombers.
And this is being held in the Columbia Capitol Rotunda.. Who authorized that? Damn those scientologists have a knack for persuading people into doing really crazy stuff.
On an interesting and disturbing side note, the word “Scientology” is in my spell checker. I didn’t realize we could make up words and have them added to the dictionary! How come “Skepathetarian” isn’t in there?

A 16 year old boy was charged with nine counts of child pornography possession and could have faced ten years consecutive jail time for each of those counts - ninety god damn years! Luckily the case was overturned because it was shown that his computer was hacked or something. He was forced to accept the lesser charge of no jail time for sharing a playboy magazine with friends at school. They even had the nerve to force him to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, but luckily that was also overturned as well.
But what if he actually did have the child pornography on his computer? Is that such a bad thing? Read more

If you were following the case of the Iranian girl sentenced to death for killing her rapist then you will be pleased to here that she has been spared the death penalty after a panel of judges decided that she had not committed intentional murder. What remains to be seen now is what her new punishment will be, unfortunately I cannot see her getting off too lightly. Read more

One of the main reasons people are against drugs is that think people will do crazy things while under the influence. To some degree this is true, but this is more true for legalized drugs such as alcohol than it is for illegal drugs such as marijuana. Read more

There’s an interesting case over in Connecticut of a 40 year substitute teacher being found guilty of “four counts of risk of injury to a minor, or impairing the morals of a child.”
The story goes along the lines of this: A teacher’s computer screen is overrun with popup windows displaying various pornographic material and a group of 7th grade students see it. She claims that the popup windows appeared by themself and would not go away. A computer expert tesified in her defense saying that he found traces of spyware on the computer, however a computer crimes “expert” claimed she would have had to physically click on the pornography links found in her computers history.
She now faces a maximum of 40 years in jail. Read more
Why Is Marijuana Illegal?

There are quite a few reasons why Marijuana is illegal and they’re all good reasons right? For example, did you know that Marijuana causes jazz musicians to create satanic music? I’m not a fan of jazz, but I didn’t know it was satanic!
Other reasons include black people taking the drug and then looking white people in the eye. It was also causing white girls to desire black men which is wrong for so many reasons that I can’t seem to think of a single one?
Check out this article for more information about why Marijuana was made illegal, it might surprise you to find out that there is no good reason behind it, only racism and greed.

Okay, so I’m not a fan of statistical data, especially when the source has a heavy bias, but the NRA has posted some data from the FBI regarding crime rates in states where you have the Right To Carry vs. those that don’t. Read more
